The Sunset Room
Varik's rooftops view, twin beds, private bathroom along the corridor
On the banks of the Waal, south of Utrecht. Bed & breakfast with cafe. Where the river stops time.
Why Veerhuis
A place to arrive.
Het Veerhuis is a monumental building on the Waal river, with a rich history dating back to the days of the ferry crossing. Today it is a place where the water sets the rhythm. Three unique rooms, a cafe with homemade lunch and freshly baked goods, and the river always close by. This is not a hotel. This is a place to come home to yourself.
Stay
Three rooms. One river.

Taste
Lunch, coffee, and a glass of wine by the water.
Homemade broodjes, toasted sandwiches, and soup of the day. Freshly brewed coffee, delicious cake, juices, and a good glass of wine. For anyone who feels like pulling up a chair for a while. You don't need to stay the night to walk in.

Gather
Meetings, workshops, and small performances, on the Waal.
A beautiful serre on the dike, with wide views over the Waal and plenty of natural light. A unique space for meetings, workshops, talks and small performances, for 12 to 25 people. Through the folding doors the serre connects to the cafe, creating a larger space for groups of up to 60. Coffee on arrival, lunch from the cafe, and room enough for drinks afterwards. Anyone who would like to stay the night is welcome in one of our three rooms.
We came for the quiet and stayed for the river. We have never woken up this slowly anywhere else.
VEERHUIS — Named after the ferry that still departs here. Rooms, a cafe, and a serre full of light.
